JazzYYC is proud to announce two new scholarship opportunities for aspiring jazz musicians. The Excellence in Music Scholarship is sponsored by Barbara E. Key and Clay C. Hayes sponsors the Helen B. Ross Jazz Scholarship. Both scholarships are open to young people who wish to continue their studies in jazz. Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old and continue their music studies at a Canadian post-secondary music program with opportunities for studies in jazz.
The value of each scholarship is $1000 and can be applied to expenses related to continued jazz/music studies including tuition, books, program auditions, and other study materials. The criteria for the two scholarships is the same, and the sponsors are pleased to support students in programs starting this fall.
This is a great opportunity for young jazz students to access funding to help them pursue their artistic goals. The deadline to apply is 11:59 pm, Saturday, September 30. Applicants must submit a short audio recording. You can download the forms for both applications below.

An adjudication jury will review all the submissions, and the successful candidate is intended to be announced on about Oct 15, 2023.
