Lush Vocal Jazz is Glennis Houston, Dave Kletke, Elliott Steinberg, and Kim Szabo, four professional vocalists coming together to do something they think is different for Calgary. Lush Vocal Jazz pulls from the books of Manhattan Transfer, New York Voices, The Hi-Lo’s, and other notable arrangers. The seed for Lush Vocal Jazz was planted in the months before the pandemic, forcing the brakes on after three or four rehearsals, but giving them ample time to write their own arrangements in anticipation of regrouping. Since June 2022, the members of Lush have been working hard on great tunes with tight harmonies and having a lot of fun in the process.

JazzYYC’s International Jazz Day Festival will be Lush Vocal Jazz’s inaugural performance.
