Keith O’Rourke (Sax)

Saxophone player Keith is a member of many local groups most notably, The Prime Time Big Band and the Calgary Creative Arts Ensemble. Blessed with the opportunity to regularly perform for many of Calgary’s jazz fans, he has been able to make a name for himself and become a recognizable figure in the jazz community. Currently, Keith is focussing on three projects: the Keith O’Rourke Quintet, Baritone Madness, and the Past Present Quintet. The main focus of Keith’s quartet is to feature his own original compositions. Drawing inspiration from a diverse range of jazz musicians, his writing is both fresh while still being rooted in the jazz tradition. His most recent album “Baritone Madness” Reached #1 in Canada last year and is becoming a regular fixture on the Canadian Jazz Scene.

Pat Belliveau (Sax)

Pat Belliveau started his formal musical training at the age of four and began playing the saxophone at age 12. He has an extensive performing background which has involved numerous performances at international jazz festivals in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, and Montreal. In addition, he has toured throughout North America, Europe, Japan, and Panama, with a number of groups, including jazz quintet Quintonal, and the saxophone ensemble Saxoffonee, both participants at the Montreux International Jazz Festival. He has also performed at private functions held for former Canadian Prime Ministers Brian Mulroney, Kim Campbell, and Joe Clark, actor Robert Duvall, former U.S. President Bill Clinton, and the Queen of Norway.

Pat has released two compact discs as a leader, the first entitled “La Zona Blanca” which features Los Angeles trumpeter Bobby Shew, Chicago drummer Paul Wertico, and “Juno Award” winning Toronto saxophonist Kirk MacDonald as special guests. The second CD is the Pat Belliveau Quintet recorded live at the Boquete International Jazz and Blues Festival in Boquete, Panama. His most recent album is “Baritone Madness” in a group featuring himself, Keith O’Rourke, and Gareth Bane on Baritone Saxophones. He can also be heard on over fifty CDs as a sideman.
